Axial Seamount

The NeMO 2007 expedition was on the R/V Atlantis, with the Jason II ROV, August 3-20, 2007.

The cruise visited Endeavour's main hydrothermal venting field for several days before operations began at Axial Volcano.

The cruise included detailed mapping of the caldera floor with MBARI's AUV, water sampling at hydrothermal vents, long-term instrument deployments, high-definition video (HDTV), and biological sampling.
