Scientists seek causes, better predictions for South Asia’s changing monsoon

A Washington State University scientist is trying to understand how and why the South Asian summer monsoon is changing. For more than 2 billion people, the monsoon rains are a matter of life and death. People in India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and neighboring countries depend on the warm, moisture-laden monsoon winds to water their crops and refill rivers and wells.
