You are now back out of the collapsed area and are getting close to the other edge of the new lava flow. Again, the key observation for lava age is that the lava is barren (no sessile animals) except where there is an isolated hydrothermal vent. The low number of species (only snails and limpets) indicates the vent is very young and only recently colonized. -> New lava, uncollapsed ->
